Although separated by two centuries and vastly different in style, the organ works of both Johann Sebastian Bach and Maurice Duruflé represent technical achievement of the highest order. Kent Tritle brings his formidable musicianship to bear on two of Bach's late preludes and fugues, Prelude and Fugue in B Minor, BWV 544 and Prelude and Fugue in E Minor ("The Wedge"), BWV 548; and Duruflé’s Suite, Op. 5 with its tour-de-force “Toccata.” Also included on the program will be the Magnificat octavi toni by Heinrich Scheidemann.
