Our largest service, warm and elegantly formal. The repertoire of our professional Cathedral Choir, volunteer Chorale and Boy and Girl Choristers derives mostly from the classical tradition--mass settings and anthems as well as great hymns and spirituals. Communion is received in the round, after a sermon from the Cathedral Dean or Chapter members.

In a world in which political leaders trade on fear for power, John the Baptist reminds us that there is another, countercultural, way. His instructions: be kind, be generous, be fair, be just. This Advent, Jesus is coming to bring light to our world, and we are called to rejoice in the possibility of others: even strangers from a strange land. It’s Gaudete Sunday: do not be afraid!
