Metropolitan Japanese Ministry Tea Time Talk
Following the 1:30pm prayer service in St. Martin's Chapel, the community gathers at Cathedral House for a special gathering entitled "Voices for Peace: A Dialogue with A-Bomb Survivors."
The Cathedral welcomes Hibakusha from Nihon Hidankyo (The Japan Confederation of A- and H-Bomb Sufferers Organizations, a grassroots organization of Japanese atomic bomb survivors-hibakusha from Hiroshima and Nagasaki, awarded a Nobel Peace Prize in 2024) for a special program on peace.
Speakers will include Toshiko Hamanaka, Assistant Secretary General of Hidankyo, and Atsumu Yuzuki, Director, A-Bomb Survivors Association in Toshima-ku, Tokyo. The discussion will be moderated by Ph.D. candidate in Anthropology and a member of the Community at the Crossing at the Cathedral Tomoya Nishira.
Please feel free to contact the MJM office for any inquiries and see this flyer for additional details.
The 4th Sunday of every month, the Metropolitan Japanese Ministry (MJM) meets at the Cathedral at 1:30pm for a time of meditation, book reading, reflection, Taizé song, and prayer. This is followed by further discussion and fellowship in Cathedral House.
