Brilliant Walls of Light (aka The Stained Glass Tour) led by John Simko celebrates the Cathedral’s incredible stained-glass windows while tracing the evolution of the medium over time and across regions.

The tour begins in the nave with its simple, flat, limited-palette, thirteenth-century medallion windows inspired by those in the Basilica of Saint-Denis and Chartres Cathedral. It ends in the east-end Chapel of Holy Savior in front of a window that reveals how far the medium had evolved over centuries. Along the way we learn what glass is, how stained glass windows are made, who made them, and why bringing light into the sacred space of a Cathedral was such a driving force.
