Angels are an area of common ground for the three Abrahamic faiths: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. The Cathedral of St. John the Divine's extraordinarily rich visual environment has a wealth of images of angels from different historical periods, and in a variety of media including stone, metal, and stained glass. This tour will take visitors through the Nave of the Cathedral and reference sources including the Hebrew Scriptures, the New Testament, and the Quran, as well as Tony Kushner’s Angels in America, John Milton’s Paradise Lost, and Dante’s Paradiso as they explore the written words along with the angelic works on display.

Led by 40-year Cathedral expert Tom Fedorek, this is a special spotlight tour for the first day of Advent.
