Join formerly incarcerated men from The Rising Hope Program in Ministry and Human Services, which offers a post-secondary course of study designed to prepare people in prison for ministry or work in the helping professions, in a discussion of their experiences.

Founded by the late Rev. Dr. George (Bill) W. Webber, President Emeritus of New York Theological Seminary, and Dr. Marian Bohen, a college educator and Ursuline nun, Rising Hope operates in several New York state prisons, including Sing Sing, Fishkill, and Woodbourne Correctional Facilities. Courses are taught by volunteers, often distinguished in their fields, who freely give their time and expertise to help the incarcerated find a path to living a positive life through education and service. The courses are offered without cost to the students and is open to prison inmates of any faith tradition who wish to grow intellectually and spiritually and serve others’ needs. Volunteer teachers in the program focus on education as a path toward personal transformation.
