Join Stanley Talbert, Ph.D candidate, Union Theological Seminary, for a talk that will examine James Baldwin's legacy of freedom by analyzing some of his novels, essays, speeches, and letters. Although not an academic theologian, Baldwin's focus on the human being and the human condition has much to say theology and religious communities of faith. In this discussion, Baldwin's writings on love, prisons, and the private life will provide the framework for thinking about theology, faith, and race in America and beyond.
