Music, Theatre, Poetry, Storytelling, Walks, Talks, Comedy, Dance, Workshops, and a Craft Fair
Randy Weston
With almost 100 artists and musicians and a variety of workshops, plan to spend a couple of hours or the entire day.
Programs and activities will entertain, engage, inspire and provoke. From bagpipes and African drums to Tibetan horns, fringe theatre and storytelling to performance art, no-holds-barred comedy and jazz to circus mayhem, the day will bring The Cathedral to life with music, words and ideas.
You can also start your holiday shopping at this year's Crafts at the Cathedral fair in Synod Hall. Thousands of one of- a-kind gifts have been created by more than 60 exhibiting artisans and craftspeople.
The Full Day Festival begins the Cathedral's Launch Year (through 2009). The Festival will herald what is to come while offering time to admire the restoration of the building and to enjoy the Cathedral's beloved, long-running programs - including the annual Paul Winter Solstice Concerts, The New Year's Eve Cathedral Concert For Peace, Early Music New York, The Jessye Norman Sacred Ellington Concert, and The New York Philharmonic Memorial Day Free Concert. There will be many reasons to visit, including—thanks to the Florence Gould Foundation—three concerts featuring the Great Organ, and a monthly program Close Reading: Spotlight on Cathedral Arts.

All Day Events, Workshops And Activites Especially for Children and Families:
The Department of Public Education and ACT will offer OrigamiUSA Origami Workshops, Medieval Arts, Brass Rubbing, and Festive Costume Workshops as well as Face Painting, Supervised Sports, Divine Parties, Mask Making with the Church of the Holy Apostle, and Visiting Winter Animals.
